Telling the Truth — Honesty Pleases God

Memory Verse "The Lord delights in truthful people." — Proverbs 12:22

Learning Objective

Students will learn that God wants us to always tell the truth.

Lesson Content

God wants us to always tell the truth! Telling the truth means saying what really happened, even when it is hard. God loves it when we are honest!

Sometimes we might want to tell a lie so we won't get in trouble. But lying makes God sad. It is always better to tell the truth, even if we made a mistake.

When we tell the truth, people trust us. Our parents, teachers, and friends know they can believe what we say. Telling the truth is one of God's important rules!

Hands-On Activity

Act out a story about telling the truth. Draw a happy face for truth and a sad face for lies. Practice saying 'I will tell the truth!'
