Lesson Content

Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. People called him 'Honest Abe' because he always told the truth.

When Lincoln was a boy, he loved to read and learn. He grew up in a small log cabin. He worked very hard and trusted God with his life.

As president, Lincoln helped keep America together during a very hard time called the Civil War. He prayed often and asked God for wisdom.

Lincoln believed that all people are created equal because God made every person special. He is remembered as one of America's greatest presidents.

Hands-On Activity

Build a small log cabin out of craft sticks or pretzel sticks. Talk about how Lincoln grew up in a simple home but did great things.
