1st Grade Civics & Government — My Community — Rules, Leaders, and Helpers
Students will learn what it means to be a good neighbor and citizen by loving and helping others.
Jesus said the second greatest commandment is to 'love your neighbor as yourself.' A neighbor is anyone around us who needs our help or kindness.
Good neighbors share, take turns, and are kind to each other. They help when someone needs it and treat others the way they want to be treated.
Being a good citizen means following rules, keeping our community clean, and helping people. Even first graders can be good citizens!
When we are kind and helpful, we show God's love to everyone around us. We make our community a better and happier place.
Make a 'Good Neighbor' card for someone on your street or in your class. Write something kind on it and draw a picture.
