Community Helpers — People Who Serve Others

Memory Verse "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others." — 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

Learning Objective

Students will learn about community helpers like firefighters, police officers, doctors, and teachers.

Lesson Content

Our community is full of wonderful helpers! God gives people special jobs to help take care of us.

Firefighters are brave helpers who put out fires and keep us safe. Police officers protect us and make sure people follow the rules. We can pray for them!

Doctors and nurses help us when we are sick. Teachers help us learn new things. Pastors teach us about God's Word!

All of these helpers are using the gifts God gave them to serve others. When you grow up, God will give you a special way to help people too!

Hands-On Activity

Draw a picture of your favorite community helper — a firefighter, police officer, doctor, teacher, or pastor. Write or tell what they do to help people. Say a prayer thanking God for community helpers.
